About Life380°
Life380° began as an idea that quietly took shape over time— a space to share stories — about travel and adventure, learning new things, useful tools, and the interesting people and experiences that shape a life.
The name came from an unexpected moment.
While recounting our daughter’s beautiful wedding in Sonoma, I meant to describe the venue’s sweeping 360-degree views. Instead, out came “380 degrees.” Everyone laughed — including me — but the phrase lingered. Days later, while searching for the right name for this space, the idea of 380º resurfaced and suddenly felt exactly right.
Life rarely fits inside a perfect circle. There are always extra degrees — moments of beauty, humor, perspective, and surprise — that stretch beyond what we plan or expect. That accidental “380°” captured how we experience life: a little wider, a little less tidy, and often more meaningful because of it.
Two moments ultimately pushed Life380° into being. One was the unexpected response to the photo below from an e-bike adventure in the Grand Tetons, which we shared on a facebook group. The photo resonated with people in ways we didn’t anticipate. The other was discovering how useful AI could be as a practical tool — helping us plan, organize, and give shape to ideas we’d been carrying around for years.
Life380° is where we share those extra degrees — travels and discoveries, tools that genuinely help, and stories from people we admire that inspire us, make us laugh, or help us see things differently.
If you enjoy stories about travel, discovery, useful tools, and the unexpected moments that shape life, you’re in the right place.
About Hart & Tom
We’re Hart and Tom, partners in life, adventure, curiosity, and the occasional “let’s try something new” moment that turns into a whole story.
I’m Hart — a lifelong skier, an active sixty-something, a mom to two grown kids, and a step-mom and grandma, or Omi, as my grandkids call me. I love staying engaged and moving, and I’m drawn to experiences that add energy, challenge, and perspective to everyday life. My parents, both immigrants from Hungary in the mid-1950s, made the most of their newfound freedom in the U.S. I grew up chasing my ski-instructor dad down the slopes, waterskiing behind his little tri-hull on Lake Erie, and heading into the blue yonder as a “co-pilot” in his small single-engine plane. My parents were hard-working and hard-playing, and managed to create a fun and adventure filled life on a tight budget. I was raised with equal parts grit, curiosity, and a strong “go try it” attitude.
Before kids, I built a career in sales and management. Afterward, amid the wonderful chaos of raising a family, I sprinkled in consulting work, volunteered for just about everything my kids were involved in, and more, and carved out as much family fun, adventure, and travel as possible.
Tom is a retired businessman and a deeply curious person at heart. Over the years, he’s been a fly fisherman, carpenter, avid sportsman, sailor, voracious reader, and even learned how to pilot a small single-engine airplane. He loves taking on new hobbies and skills and is always exploring something, either learning the next new thing or returning to an old one. He’s the steady counterbalance to my enthusiasm, shaped by a lifetime of curiosity, leadership, and a talent for figuring things out. Tom is also a fiercely loving father and grandfather.
Family is the most important guiding light for us both.
Together, we love exploring new places, trying new things, and collecting small moments that become big memories. We ski the East, the West, the North, and even the Alps on occasion. We hike, kayak, snorkel, and recently took up e-biking. For our 60th and 70th birthdays, we learned to scuba dive together, which pretty much sums us up — always up for an adventure, preferably one that comes with a view.
Travel and movement keep us feeling alive. Our best days include learning something new, planning our next adventure, reading, time with family and friends, being outside, and and the simple joy of hanging out with our dog Margo .
We’re glad you’re here and hope you find something interesting or inspiring.
